After years of progress toward a teacher licensure system that has helped more high-quality candidates of color access teaching positions, legislation has been introduced that would make it difficult for schools to hire them – pushing many teachers of color out and leaving students in our community to miss out on a great classroom experience.
We also urge you to attend the hearing for this damaging bill on Monday, March 4 at 10:00 a.m. in Room 5 of the State Office Building. Any teacher or school leader who is interested in testifying, please let us know.
